The team

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Shepherd + Wedderburn Service Desk team.

 

The S+W service desk is an eight person team split across Edinburgh, Glasgow and London. The team rota the provision of first, second and third line support to 500+ users. Outside of the rota, team members are involved in the planning, delivery and documentation of a variety of projects.

The role

Primary Duties

  • To maintain and deploy the firms laptop and desktop operating systems and applications.
  • To test, commission and install new software, hardware and IT systems
  • Contribute to the development and documentation of IT procedures and processes.
  • Act as a technical resource in projects as directed by manager

 

Secondary Duties

  • To provide 2nd line application, OS and hardware support for internal and remote workers.
  • To resolve user issues in a timely fashion and to escalate with relevant details where appropriate
  • To carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by manager

Candidate Profile

Essential

  • Experience of OS and application deployment
  • Strong technical support capability covering Windows 10, MS Office, Active Directory, MS Exchange and iOS configuration (including EMM experience)

Desirable

  • Experience of iManage, Citrix, Windscribe, Workshare, Mobile Iron and Mimecast
  • Patch Management
  • Service Desk experience providing support to a multi-site organisation.

Technical Skills/Experience

  • Demonstrates appropriate range of legal knowledge and, with assistance, can identify issues outside their expertise and seek appropriate assistance.
  • Demonstrates initiative to obtain relevant information to complete tasks.
  • Produces a solution best addressing requirements, with guidance.
  • Demonstrates potential to display effective communication skills

 

Business/Work Management

  • Works as part of a team to attain objectives within agreed timescales and budgets.
  • Keeps all clients and colleagues up-to-date with latest developments.
  • Complies with all firm policies and procedures, including financial.
  • Implements improvements in working methods.
  • Prepares well for meetings with guidance.
  • Makes effective use of the firm’s information management systems, and complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.
