Due to our strengthening presence and increasing client bank across the north of Scotland, we are looking for an experienced solicitor to join our expanding Private Wealth and Tax team, based in the Aberdeen office.  You would be joining a team which currently comprises of 1 partner, 1 consultant, 1 senior associate, 1 senior solicitor, 1 NQ solicitor, 1 trainee and support staff.  You would also have the opportunity to work closely with partners and colleagues across the Edinburgh and Glasgow private wealth and tax teams.  We are very much ‘one team with three doors’ and very collegiate and collaborative in our working practices. The role

We will consider applications from Associates and Senior Associates for this position.

 

The successful applicant will demonstrate an appropriate range of knowledge and experience in complex executries, including estates with farming assets; Will drafting; Inheritance Tax planning; Trust work (creation, administration and taxation of Trusts); Power of Attorney; care fees planning; and charities. Having a STEP Diploma qualification would be advantageous but is not necessary.

The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously with minimum guidance and be happy to help support more junior members of the team.

We offer a competitive salary, with annual discretionary firmwide bonus and personal bonus for exceptional performance. We currently have a hybrid working policy in place which enables our people to work from home up to 50% of their working days, measured over a fortnight.

We are recruiting for a full-time role, however we are happy to consider applications from people who wish to work four days per week.
